Last night Philadelphia 76er Allen Iverson number 3 jersey was retired and hung up top in the Wells Fargo arena during halftime with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards game. He was joined other former 76ers basketball stars like Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain, Bobby Jones, Maurice Cheeks, Bill Cunningham, Hal Greer, and Julius Irving. This moment was shared by a sold out crowd of fans and his loving family. Allen Iverson was the star point guard for the 76ers since day 1 of being drafted to the team. The franchise its self is dear to Iverson because Philly is his hometown. Known for his braids, tattoos, and shamguard crossovers, Iverson made even the iconic Michael Jordan fall a couple times while playing on the court. Allen Iverson always was hurt but he remain unstoppable inspire of injuries he endured while on the court. Maybe unfortunate that Iverson never got a ring but his presence made even the most exalted player stay on his guard. Iverson played with the 76ers for 14 years (1996-2000)before he was traded to the Nuggets and then went across seas.
