Kerry Washington for Anita Hill

In 1991, only 24 percent of Americans believe Hill’s accusations. Since then, attitudes on sexual harassment have been all over the map. In 1991, 74 percent said sexual harassment of women in the workplace is a problem in the United States, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll. That increased to 85 percent in 1992, and fell to 71 percent in 1994. By 2011, that number dropped to 64 percent.

Actress Kerry Washington continues to sizzle on prime time sensation Scandal but in other news Washington will debut as the media windstorm Anita Hill. Now we Qweens were babies during this media frenzy. If you didn’t know Anita Hill dropped a major bomb when she claimed before the world that the only Black American Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States was sexually harassing her during her time working with him while he was awaiting to be on the bench. Supreme Court judge Clarence Thomas actually still remains actively on the court bench as a judge till this day since the incident took place in 1991. The outcome was epic in both politics, corporate America and society as a whole. The ripple effect was the idea for the law today that covers sexual harassment in the workplace. Sexism and Race were put against one another in this trial. Needless to say it’s still a quiet war still being fought on deaf ears in our opinion. Everyday someone whether male or female is sexually harassed with no consequence for the Harass•er … The movie is entitled Confirmation directed by Susannah Grant (Erin Brochovich ) and Rick Famuyiwa  (Dope) . The movie airs for April on HBO.
