I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants
They say this is a man’s world yet it’s nothing without a woman… In the Party Promotion circuit that could be unquestionably the truth. However , there’s one woman who defies that theory, her name is 1st Lady El
She hails from across the bridge in Jersey City, New Jersey.
1st Lady El has reigned supreme as the only woman on the upper eastcoast in a male dominating arena in the entertainment industry as a party promoter for several years. Here’s how she started…
When did you know “Promotions” was your lane:
It’s crazy because I sort of fell into promotions.
A friend of mine’s name Fuquan told me I should try promoting.
At first I was hesitant about it, until he convinced me. He said EL you have this light, people gravitate to you.
I began doing parties with him and the outcome was successful.
Salute To Fuquan my big bro for believing in me when no one else did. I won’t ever forget. I soon branched off from him and created The Murda Mamis Movement. The only all female movement at the time in hip hop. It definitely wasn’t easy but it was all worth it. I love what I do which is promotions, marketing, event planning, and artist development. I’m a woman who wears many hats, and I’m good at what I do.
I’m thankful that after all these years as a woman in this game I’m still respected, loved and remain relevant still til this day in this era of entertainment .
It’s all about reinventing yourself and staying current. When you love what you do it makes it that much better. It’s a blessing.
I’ve been able to go places and see things that I’ve always dreamt of. It has been an amazing ride.
My parents are my inspiration. They have shown me through their own experiences in life that hard work and dedication will take you farther. I owe my work ethic and non stop grind to them. I’m thankful that they raised me to be strong and independent.
I believe the key to my longevity is hard work. I don’t wait for anyone to make things happen for me.
I go out and make it happen.
If there is no lane, I’ll make my own lane.
Im blessed to have strong working relationships within the industry which is definitely a major key as well. The most important thing that I’ve build on my own through all these years is respect. I treat people how I want to be treated and that’s with respect.
I thank you ladies for the love and support. I appreciate you ladies.
