We awake to a new day… I don’t know how to go about this but I will say…
Zanu Simpson, when I met you, it was at a GMC bbq hosted by “Dottie and her crew” and Awkward Dishes owner Leta Lundy was handling the food…on the block, 190th and 116rd in the early 2000’s DJ Love Dinero had us live that night… Fast forward and here we are… We laid to rest a man of dedication, love, family, and loyalty. How can someone take you away like this, so suddenly, will be the question for years to come,if a culprit hasn’t been found…
Those were the thoughts and conversations at the funeral, held at the Greater Allen Cathedral of New York City. I watched as the many loved ones far and near pured out in droves of white, asked of the Simpson family in a celebration of the life of “ZdaGreat1“. As, the viewing carried on, a slide show of Zanu appeared on the huge screen above the pulpit in the Cathedral. Happy faces graced the screen, sharing in the love that was “Zanu“, Zanu you will be missed indeed. The community has an air of change in it, u can feel it, one must remain optimistic for a better outlook on our future in South East Queens on the Northside of things…
“It’s like it is the soundtrack to his life, sh*t crazy…”– words rendered by featured artist Corey D.
The wound is still open in the Hollis,Queens neighborhood in what is considered “Northside” Queens in the Southeast district of New York, regarding the death of Zanu Simpson aka #ZdaGreat a popular athlete/barber who was kilt in a senseless act of violence on July 25 2017 in the wee hours of the morning following a party at popular bar and grill called Breezes on the Conduit in Rosedale by the highway… well that’s what the streets are saying but one continues to wonder… WHY? What could have possibly led the killer to wanna pull the trigger… was it fear? was it premediated? was it revenge? We will never know until the light is shown… what sits in the dark eventually reaches SUNLIGHT… #staytune

Coming together is a beginning; Keeping together is progress; working together is success.
Two brothers and their friend from the hood of Hollis, Queens made a huge statement lastnight that dreams aren’t far fetch, they are possible! Sam Sneed, Z da Great, and O the barber debuted their reality show “The Life” and a new Men’s grooming line named Strickly Skillz Grooming Solutions. The release event was held at the celebrity hotspot the Galapagos Art Space located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn. Pictures of the trio aligned the brick slated wall of the affair, each displaying their clientele and skills. The red carpet was booming, cameras flashing and music blazing from the speakers by popular DJs LoveDinero (WakaFlocka’s official DJ) and SuperStar Jay (Sirius radio).
The trio of barbers are known for their signature cuts, and their services to some of the entertainment industry’s biggest stars at their Barbershop titled Strickly Skillz in Queens, New York. They all looked quite charming in their stylish suit and ties, after all their theme for last night was a Black Tie Affair. The place was swarming with handsome men and sexy women in the beautiful building. The Qweens got to briefly speak with the busy hosts Sam Sneed and Z along with their management Bella Jones about their new ventures. The Strickly Skillz men’s grooming line will consist of men’s wave pomenade, men’s shaving gel, men’s anti bump solution and a clothing apparel line which is soon to debut. Some popular faces to line the crowd were that of Winslow of SlowBucks and Yoshi the Bartender. The affair had great performances from bluesy jazz vocalist Chansz Odero and rapper Lavish J. There are more projects in the works as was stated by manager Bella Jones. The location was great, the Couture Treats by Neia Jay were delicious, the musical performances were superb and the atmosphere was all love. The Qweens salute The Strickly Skillz family great success on all their endeavors.
